COLUMBUS — Ohio State found a way to survive in a homecoming scare against Nebraska. Yes, the Buckeyes needed a late defensive stop to beat the Cornhuskers 21-17 on Saturday.

Defensive back Jordan Hancock was the Buckeyes’ saving grace with his game-winning interception of Nebraska quarterback Dylan Raiola. The heroics and efforts of the entire Ohio State team happened in front of several commits and targets.

Two official visitors were on campus this weekend. Four-star Philadelphia (Pa) Imhotep EDGE and Ohio State commit Zahir Mathis and four-star Duluth (Ga) offensive tackle and Georgia Tech commit Damola Ajidahun. Both players are top-300 prospects per On3.

Ohio State hosted more of its commits as well including five-star Plus+ quarterback Tavien St. Clair, top-50 OT Carter Lowe, in-state IOL Jake Cook, top-150 TE Brody Lennon, top-300 WR Bodpegn Miller and top-50 SAF Faheem Delane.

Oh, and how could anyone forget five-star Reserve (La) Edna Karr defensive lineman Jahkeem Stewart, the No. 15 overall prospect per On3?

It wasn’t just commits who filled the Horseshoe, however. Some big hitters from the 2026 cycle were on campus as well.

Four-star Winston Salem (N.C.) East Forsyth offensive tackle J.B. Shabazz made his debut game-day visit. Four-star Strongsville (Ohio) linebacker Storm Miller made his first game-day visit of the 2024 season, but is no stranger to Columbus.

A new face in the On300 made his debut game-day visit too. Four-star Delaware (Ohio) Hayes running back Favour Akih, who is the No. 77 overall prospect per On3, was on campus Saturday.

Another major name in Columbus was 2027 Lake In The Hills (Ill) Carmel Catholic quarterback Trae Taylor.

Ohio State has three more home games in its 2024 season, meaning three more opportunities to host and impress recruits. Purdue (Nov. 9), Indiana (Nov. 23) and Michigan (Nov. 30) all will play Ohio State in the Horseshoe in front of recruits.
