The Early-Signing Period is here and Ohio State is set to once again bring in one of the country’s best recruiting classes. Lettermen Row is tracking the Buckeyes recruiting news throughout the signing period as 2023 commitments officially join the Ohio State football program. The latest Letter of Intent is in: Noah Rogers has signed with the Buckeyes.

COLUMBUS — Noah Rogers took his time and thought about the narrative.

A hometown hero or a chance to really grow and develop as an already impressive talent.

Rogers signed his National Letter of Intent to Ohio State on Wednesday, officially making it clear he’s ready to forge his own path out of North Carolina.

What does it mean for the Buckeyes? Let’s break it down.

Who is Noah Rogers?

Noah Rogers is a 6-foot-2, 195-pound wide receiver who committed to Ohio State on June 22, 2022. His other top schools were North Carolina and North Carolina State.

On3 Consensus Rankings: Four-star, No. 48 overall, No. 9 WR, No. 2 North Carolina

On3 Ranking: Five-star, No. 18 overall, No. 3 WR, No. 1 North Carolina

Hometown: Rolesville, North Carolina

High school: Rolesville

Rogers was always viewed as an elite prospect, but he continued to elevate his game throughout his senior season. Rogers was one of the fastest-rising prospects in the nation and added his fifth star from On3 earlier in the fall.

He has a unique blend of size, strength and speed that in recent history, has performed well at Ohio State. Rogers was certainly a catalyst for the Rolesville Rams’ success this season. The Rams ended a near-historic run in the fourth round of the North Carolina High School Playoffs.

In 2022 he had 1,432 yards receiving, 22 touchdown catches and averaged 22 yards a catch.

How did Rogers end up at Ohio State?

Ultimately it was the ability to develop under Hartline and be tested every single day by others in the wide receiver room.

“I just like the atmosphere,” Rogers told On3 in June. “I feel like their play style fits me. I like playing fast, playing with the best. I feel like that’s what they have. Doing a great job with coach Day and coach Hartline just coaching everybody.”

Noah Rogers Scouting Report (On3)

Athletic pass-catcher who is one of the more productive receivers in the 2023 cycle. Had a fantastic junior season with 1,430 receiving yards and 22 touchdowns while averaging over 20.5 per catch. A twitchy, bouncy athlete who shows the ability to get vertical with ease due to his long speed. Shows some springy tendencies and comes down with acrobatic, high-point grabs. Also capable of taking short passes or end arounds to the house. Validates his athleticism in the combine setting, where he’s one of the more athletic top receivers in the cycle. Can continue to improve on routes and change of direction. Has solid to good ball skills but can continue improving in that regard.
