COLUMBUS — Ohio State begins its season 16 days from now.

But future Buckeyes begin in as little of a day. High school football is here for several states across the country, and Ohio State commits are ready to take the field.

Whether it’s a committed senior ready for the final lap, or a talented underclassman prepared to gather more tape, it’s time to play.

Lettermen Row centralizes the week one schedule of the Buckeyes offensive and defensive linemen commits in the 2023 class.

ICYMI: quarterbacks and running backs, wide receivers and defensive backs.

Offensive linemen

Three of the Buckeyes four offensive linemen commits start their senior seasons this week.

Only three-star Brunswick School (Greenwich, Connecticut) offensive tackle Miles Walker is still in training camp. Walker and the Brunswick School don’t start the season until September 17 when they host Hun (CT).

The three others — Luke Montgomery, Josh Padilla and Austin Siereveld — all start their seasons this week as week one across Ohio begins August 18.

Montgomery, a four-star interior offensive lineman, and the Findlay Trojans play Anthony Wayne for the second consecutive season opener. The Trojans won last season’s matchup 24-14 at home and will travel to Anthony Wayne for this season’s version.

Padilla, a four-star interior offensive lineman, plays at Wayne in Huber Heights — a Dayton suburb. Wayne kicks off its season tonight against Fairfield. Padilla and the Warriors won their season opener in 2021.

Siereveld, a four-star interior offensive lineman, begins his senior season with Lakota East on Friday. The Thunderhawks begin their season at home against Centerville.

Ohio State will certainly keep tabs on the games as it prepares for its own season opener against Notre Dame.

Defensive linemen

Albeit the defensive line class is currently small, that doesn’t mean it will stay this way.

However, Jason Moore and Will Smith Jr. both begin their senior seasons on Friday in Maryland and Ohio, respectively.

Moore, a four-star defensive end at renowned DeMatha Catholic, will play his last high school opener against Archbishop Spaulding (MD). The Stags won last year’s opener 28-7 ahead of a 7-3 season.

Smith is a three-star defensive lineman at in-state Dublin Coffman. The Shamrocks start their season at home against St. John’s Jesuit (Ohio).
