Where Ohio State commits land inside latest On300 update
COLUMBUS — Ohio State routinely recruits, earns commitments and signs some of the best players throughout the country.
The Buckeyes have signed top-five recruiting classes every year under head coach Ryan Day and 2025 is on track to be the same. Monday afternoon, On3 released its most recent 2025 rankings update and several Ohio State pledges have found themselves recognized as top-300 players.
Lettermen Row breaks down which future Buckeyes landed inside the On300.
Na’eem Offord
New Ranking: No. 7 Overall, No. 2 cornerback
Old Ranking: No. 5 overall, No. 2 cornerback
There isn’t much movement for five-star Birmingham (Ala) Parker cornerback Na’eem Offord in the latest rankings update. Offord was on campus for the Ohio State spring game and won’t be back until the end of June for his official visit.
Devin Sanchez
New Ranking: No. 9 overall, No. 3 cornerback
Old Ranking: No. 8 overall, No. 3 cornerback
Houston (Texas) North Shore cornerback Devin Sanchez remains a five-star prospect in the most recent recruiting rankings update. Sanchez was at Ohio State this past weekend for the Buckeyes spring game where he officially shut down his recruitment, not it was that much open ever since he committed in January.
Tavien St. Clair
New Ranking: No. 28 overall, No. 5 quarterback
Old Ranking: No. 27 overall, No. 5 quarterback
Four-star Bellefontaine (Ohio) quarterback Tavien St. Clair dropped a few spots both overall and position-wise. It’s curious too. St. Clair has comparable numbers to the other quarterbacks ahead of him. He will compete at the Elite 11 regional in Columbus this coming weekend and a few other camps this summer.
Tarvos Alford
New Ranking: No. 82 overall, No. 5 linebacker
Old Ranking: No. 78 overall, No. 7 linebacker
Four-star Port St. Lucie (Fla) Vero Beach linebacker Tarvos ‘TJ’ Alford is one of the most recent commitments to the Ohio State 2025 class. He checks in as a top-100 prospect and one of the best linebackers in the country.
Zahir Mathis
New Ranking: No. 124 overall, No. 12 EDGE
Old Ranking: No. 110 overall, No. 12 EDGE
Four-star Philadelphia (Pa) Imhotep Institute EDGE Zahir Mathis took quite a dip in the rankings and it might not necessarily be because he regressed, but rather, because others have emerged ahead of him.
Mathis committed to Ohio State in January and is still a major commitment for the Buckeyes and defensive line coach Larry Johnson.

Carter Lowe
New Ranking: No. 128 overall, No. 12 offensive tackle
Old Ranking: No. 159 overall, No. 13 offensive tackle
This is a ranking adjustment long overdue and it should continue to rise. Four-star Toledo (Ohio) Whitmer offensive tackle Carter Lowe moved up 31 spots in the overall ranking and is now the No. 12 offensive tackle according to On3.
Lowe was long a top priority for both head coach Ryan Day and offensive line coach Justin Frye. The Toledo native committed to the Buckeyes in January.
Nate Roberts
New Ranking: No. 166 overall, No. 9 tight end
Old Ranking: No. 139 overall, No. 7 tight end
Four-star Washington (Okla) tight end Nate Roberts finally pulled the trigger and committed to Ohio State the morning of the spring game. He’s been the priority for position coach Keenan Bailey for over a year and is likely the only tight end the Buckeyes will take in the 2025 cycle.
DeShawn Stewart
New Ranking: No. 184 overall, No. 18 cornerback
Old Ranking: No. 154 overall, No. 16 cornerback
Four-star Wayne (N.J.) DePaul Catholic safety DeShawn Stewart committed to Ohio State a little over three weeks ago. He dropped 30 spots in the latest On3 rankings update and still no position switch. The Buckeyes have two more spots left for their safety class which means they are locked in on landing top targets Faheem Delane and Trey McNutt.
Blake Woodby
New Ranking: No. 259 overall, No. 24 cornerback
Old Ranking: No. 259 overall, No. 27 cornerback
The jury is still out for four-star Baltimore (Md) St. Frances Academy cornerback Blake Woodby. He missed time last fall because of an injury, but when he played he was a very solid defensive back.
Woodby was the first defensive prospect committed to the Buckeyes’ 2025 class.
De’Zie Jones
New Ranking: No. 295 overall, No. 43 wide receiver
Old Ranking: Previously unranked
Welcome to the On300, De’Zie Jones!
The four-star Wayne (N.J.) DePaul Catholic wide receiver committed to Ohio State in March and was a swap for former pledge Jayvan Boggs.
