One important game for Ohio State commit Air Noland
COLUMBUS — Ohio State is preparing for its own season to start as it’s going through its yearly preseason training camp.
The same goes for the Buckeyes’ commits, who were already entrenched with preseason activities before their future program started.
Lettermen Row is going to look at one important game for all 19 prospects in the 2024 class and for 2025 quarterback commit Tavien St. Clair, and 2026 wide receiver commit Chris Henry Jr.
First up is the most important position: quarterback. Four-star Fairburn (Ga) Langston Hughes signal-caller Air Noland.
Week One Showdown
Ohio State’s quarterback of the future is coming off an impressive junior campaign where he threw for over 4,000 yards in an undefeated season capped off with a state championship.

So how does the No. 4 quarterback in the country follow that up? With the start of course.
Week One is going to be a pivotal matchup for Noland and Langston Hughes as it travels to Carrollton on August 18 for a 7:30 p.m. kickoff.
This matchup will have plenty of Georgia prep writers buzzing as the reigning Class 6A champs will hit the road, and play the Class 7A runner-up. Not only that, but it’s a great quarterback match-up as well. You have Noland, who will be a senior and one of the most prolific Georgia high school quarterbacks of all time. And then the up-and-comer of 2026 star Julian Lewis.
Lewis already has offers from nearly every major program in the country including Ohio State. As a freshman, he threw for 4,118 yards and 48 touchdowns on a 65 percent completion clip. More impressive, he only threw 12 interceptions. Lewis led the Trojans to a state championship appearance last fall but lost to Mill Creek in a 70-35 blowout.
Both programs are without respective weapons, notably tight end Jelani Thurman for Noland. But both programs also return a bevy of talent, and this week one matchup is an absolute tone-setter for the Buckeyes’ 2024 quarterback pledge.
