One important game for Ohio State running back commit Sam Williams-Dixon
COLUMBUS — Ohio State is preparing for its own season to start as it’s going through its yearly preseason training camp.
The same goes for the Buckeyes’ commits, who were already entrenched with preseason activities before their future program started.
Lettermen Row is going to look at one important game for all 19 prospects in the 2024 class and for 2025 quarterback commit Tavien St. Clair, and 2026 wide receiver commit Chris Henry Jr.
We continue with the offense and stay in the Buckeye State for three-star Pickerington (Ohio) North running back Sam Williams-Dixon.
A Big Regular Season Finale
This fall is going to present Sam Williams-Dixon with a lot of new opportunities and challenges. The in-state commit and No. 38 running back in the country will spend his final high school season with a new program, in a new part of the state and in a different level of competition.

It was his plan to head down to Pickerington, a suburb 20 minutes east of Columbus. The Panthers are always one of the toughest teams in Central Ohio, and with a pretty loaded roster, 2023 is no exception to the standard.
So that’s why the Week 10 showdown against in-conference rival, Gahanna, on Oct. 20, is arguably the most important game for Williams-DIxon. The Lions won the Ohio Capital Conference — Ohio Division — last fall when typically the road has gone through Pickerington.
Gahanna beat Pickerington North 42-2 in the regular season last year on its way to an Ohio Division I State Final Four appearance. This is why, barring how the regular season shakes out, the Week 10 finale for Williams-Dixon is critical.
It’ll be a big prove-it moment for himself and for the program this fall.
Williams-Dixon is an impressively versatile running back who can many things very well. Need a traditional, downfield running back? He can do it. What about an option in the pass game both from the backfield or in the slot — or even on the line of scrimmage? He can do it.
