Three-star running back Isaiah West commits to Ohio State
COLUMBUS — Ohio State has found another running back in the 2025 cycle.
Three-star Philadelphia (Pa) St. Joseph’s running back Isaiah West has committed to the Buckeyes. The 5-foot-11, 210-pound back originally was committed to Kentucky, but decommitted from the Wildcats on May 13.
That was just a few days after his debut Ohio State visit where he spoke glowingly about the trip with On3’s Steve Wiltfong.
“First and foremost just the tradition at Ohio State,” West said. “You see why they’re one of the best in college football.
“There is a constant strive for excellence. There is a winner and loser and they pride themselves in that.
“There is a brotherhood there. It really reminded me of the place I’m at right now.”
West is the No. 498 overall prospect and the No. 36 running back in the On3 Industry Rankings.
There’s a chance the Buckeyes will be light on running backs once the 2024 season ends, and West sees the opportunity to better himself at a high level.
“One thing I’ve always been looking for throughout this entire recruiting process,” West began. “I want to compete at the highest level and play against the best of the best and they afford that to me.

“With such an open running back room with TreVeyon (Henderson) and (Quinshon) Judkins leaving after this year it’s a great opportunity to me to play as a freshman and that was something I looked forward to and wanted for myself.”
