Ohio State in top schools list for linebacker Nathaniel Owusu-Boateng
COLUMBUS — Ohio State already has two linebackers committed to its top-ranked 2025 class, but it wants a third.
Could four-star Bradenton (Fla) IMG Academy linebacker Nathaniel Owusu-Boateng be the third? The 6-foot-2, 210-pound prospect just cut his list of schools to thirteen and Ohio State made the cut.
Florida, Florida State, Georgia, Louisville, Miami, Michigan, Notre Dame, Oregon, South Carolina, Stanford, Texas and USC are the twelve other programs that made the list.
Owusu-Boateng is the No. 62 overall prospect and the No. 4 linebacker according to the On3 Industry Rankings. On3 has him as the No. 293 overall prospect and the No. 28 linebacker.
He had two key quotes when talking to On3 Director of Recruiting, Chad Simmons, about the state of his recruitment.
“I am big on relationships,” Owusu-Boateng told On3. “These are the schools that have reached out the most and shown the most interest in me as a player and a man. Outside of the relationships, one thing they have in common is, that they develop players. The schools on my list put guys into the NFL and they have coaches that care about life after football for their players.”

“I am in no rush,” Owusu-Boateng said. “I am going to take my time and not compromise in my decision. Being developed as a man and a player is important to me and I am looking at it all when making a decision. Knowing what college football is today, I am looking to see who has my back and who wants the best for me.
“There will be no rush. I will probably add two more official visits for the summer, take a few during the season, then make a decision closer to Signing Day in December.”
Looking at the Buckeyes’ position, Owusu-Boateng hasn’t been on campus since the Notre Dame game back in 2022. While Ohio State is in the mix, I feel Owusu-Boateng is more on the Buckeyes than they are on him.
The Buckeyes have two linebackers committed to their 2025 class. Four-star Port St. Lucie (Fla) Vero Beach linebacker TJ Alford and three-star Akron (Ohio) Archbishop Hoban linebacker Eli Lee.
