Four-star defensive tackle Trajen Odom commits to Ohio State
COLUMBUS — Ohio State keeps stacking wins in the trenches.
Four-star Matthews (N.C.) Weddington defensive lineman Trajen Odom has committed to the Buckeyes. The 6-foot-4, 285-pound North Carolina native committed to Ohio State over Oregon, USC, UCLA and numerous others. Odom checks in as the No. 138 overall prospect and the No. 13 defensive lineman according to On3.
On3 is higher on Odom than the rest of the industry — No. 300 overall and No. 24 defensive lineman in the On3 Industry Rankings.
His commitment is more than welcomed, and he is the first defensive tackle in the class for the Buckeyes. How’d he end up at Ohio State, however?
Larry Johnson.
“Compared to what I expected, this visit went beyond that,” Odom told Lettermen Row back in March. “The personal relationships I got to experience with Coach Larry Johnson, the rest of the defensive line staff and Coach Ryan Day were amazing.
“The energy and the talent of the guys that Ohio State has through the roof and it was just way more than I expected.”

Odom made his official visit the weekend of June 7 but continued with his process through his final official visit. He informed coaching staffs on June 27 of his decision.
He is the second defensive lineman to commit to Ohio State this week alone. Four-star EDGE Zion Grady committed on Monday. Those two join Zahir Mathis and London Merritt in the trenches.
Five-star Plus+ cornerback duo Na’eem Offord and Devin Sanchez, four-star safety Faheem Delane, four-star safety DeShawn Stewart and three-star safety Cody Haddad are the secondary.
Linebackers TJ Alford and Eli Lee round out the defense.
The Buckeyes are working toward another great offensive class too.
