COLUMBUS — Ohio State has done it again on the recruiting trail with an impressive wide receiver.

Jeremiah McClellan has committed to the Buckeyes.

The four-star St. Louis (Mo) Christian Brothers College wideout committed to Ohio State over an impressive list that included Missouri, Oregon, Georgia and LSU as part of the finalists.

McClellan is the No. 17 wide receiver and No. 91 overall prospect according to the On3 Industry Rankings. On3 itself has McClellan ranked lower at No. 22 and No. 127, respectively.

He is the third wide receiver in the Buckeyes’ impressive wideout haul and joins Jeremiah Smith and Mylan Graham.

Offensive coordinator and wide receiver coach Brian Hartline has once again pieced together an impressive haul and with McClellan in the mix, the 2024 class has potentially finished.

McClellan made his official visit to Ohio State during the Buckeyes’ large weekend from June 9-11. He spent plenty of time with Smith, four offensive line commits and running backs James Peoples and Sam Williams-Dixon.

A weekend spent with seven Ohio State offensive commits was certainly convincing for McClellan. Moreso than the peer recruiting, for McClellan, it was always about the development and Hartline for him.

“It was a great visit man, just being able to be with coach Hartline is great,” McClellan told Lettermen Row in the spring. “I was also there with Brandon Inniss and we were just talking about the school and everything.”

He spoke openly about also being able to connect with Marvin Harrison Jr. and Emeka Egbuka.

“They both spoke so highly about coach Hartline and what’s like playing for him,” McClellan said. “Everything is so focused on football, everybody is locked in.

“I could definitely see myself at Ohio State.”

McClellan now rounds out another impressive offensive class for head coach Ryan Day and his staff.

The Buckeyes are led by five-star wide receivers Jeremiah Smith and Mylan Graham. Four-star quarterback Air Noland and offensive linemen Ian Moore, Deontae Armstrong, Devontae Armstrong and Marc Nave are in the class. A three-headed running back monster of James Peoples, Jordan Lyle and Sam Williams-Dixon is in the backfield. And of course, tight end Max LeBlanc is in the class.

Defensively the Buckeyes have four-star linebacker duo Garrett Stover and Payton Pierce in the class. Four-star safety Jaylen McClain is also in the class for Ohio State.

Five-star Chicago (Ill) St. Ignatius defensive lineman Justin Scott and an impressive trio of cornerbacks — Aaron Scott Jr., Bryce West and Miles Lockhart — round out the defensive class.

Wide receiver is always a premium position for the Buckeyes, and they landed an elite slot wideout with Jeremiah McClellan.
