Good morning, Ohio State fans, and welcome to the Scarlet Sunrise! Football will always be our focus, but every day we’ll cover news, notes and analysis from across Buckeyes sports. Join us each morning to get caught up on everything you missed in the world of Ohio State football, recruiting, basketball and more.

Ohio State WR depth chart

Ohio State has quite a bit of talent to replace at wide receiver after losing a trio of fifth-year seniors who shined last season. Parris Campbell, Johnnie Dixon and Terry McLaurin all moved on to the NFL. Even with the losses, though, the Buckeyes are set to be loaded at wide receiver once again this season. Once the team’s second-leading receiver from a year ago, K.J. Hill, decided to return for his senior season, the Buckeyes were officially set to keep moving forward.

Of course, it helps to have the country’s second-ranked wide receiver in 2019’s recruiting cycle enroll early. It also helps that plenty of playmakers are still around to help new quarterback Justin Fields.

As part of Wide Receiver Week at Lettermen Row, we analyzed Ohio State’s wide receiver depth chart, including who is a lock for playing time, who will contribute occasionally and who can expect to watch from the sidelines.

Ty Hamilton earns Ohio State offer

Ohio State offered Ty Hamilton on Tuesday afternoon. Hamilton, the younger brother of current Buckeyes defensive tackle Davon Hamilton, was on campus and defensive line coach Larry Johnson extended the offer to him in person. The 6-foot-3, 250-pound rising senior said that despite his Buckeyes roots, there was no immediate thought about committing to the Buckeyes.

“It’s a great feeling to see my hard work pay off,” Hamilton told Lettermen Row. “But there’s no commitment yet.”

Hamilton has 20 offers, including Michigan and Penn State, but obviously this opportunity is a bit different. Hamilton visited the Buckeyes twice in March and has preferred to build his relationship with Johnson in person. That’s why he’s not intending to camp in Columbus this summer, but rather hopes to work with the legendary defensive line coach privately.

“I’m going there sometime in June,” he said. “We haven’t set a date yet. I’ll go over there and do some one-on-one work with Coach Johnson. We’ve still been keeping in touch these past couple of weeks.”
