Ohio State lands touted 2026 wrestler Dom Munaretto

COLUMBUS – The Ohio State wrestling program added another top prospect to its future roster on Friday afternoon.
Saint Charles (Ill.) St. Charles East standout Dom Munaretto has committed to the Buckeyes over Illinois, Indiana and Nebraska. He is the third commitment for head coach Tom Ryan and company in 2026. Munaretto joins Sellersville (Pa.) Faith Christian Academy standout Adam Waters and Chantilly (Va.) standout Tyler Dekraker in Ohio State’s 2026 class.
Munaretto won the IHSA 3A State Championship at 120 pounds this past season. He finished second at 113 pounds in the previous season. Prior to that, Munaretto won his first IHSA 3A State Championship at 106 pounds in 2023.
Munaretto is also a highly-decorated freestyle wrestler. He won a U17 World Championship at 45kg in 2022 then won a second world title at 51kg in 2024.
Additionally, Munaretto is the former high school teammate of Ohio State freshman Ben Davino, who redshirted for the Buckeyes last season. Davino went 19-1 in his redshirt season and figures to be the Buckeyes starter at 133 pounds next season.
