COLUMBUS — Ohio State has been working all season to play its best football in November.

The Buckeyes appear to be doing that after their most complete performance of the year last weekend against Michigan State.

Part of that strategy to peak at the perfect time has been tweaking how the program operates week-to-week. Last week, head coach Ryan Day pulled back the amount of practice time Ohio State had in order to keep his roster fresh for the stretch run of the season, which includes a game at Michigan.

It yielded good results.

“It helped tremendously,” superstar wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. said. “Not just me, but many of the players, are dealing with some injuries, trying to battle it out. And throughout the whole week, we’re trying to get as healthy as we can for Saturday because obviously Saturday is most important. So for him to do that for us and for us to perform the way we did, it shows our maturity as a team. It shows the confidence and trust he has in us to go out there and still execute at a high level, even cutting back practice. So hopefully we continue to do that.

“But obviously Saturdays need to go the way today did to get that.”

Ohio State has another chance to prove its playing its best football on Saturday in the home finale against Minnesota. Lettermen Row has everything you need to get ready for that game on Senior Day with all the game-watching and listening details ahead of Buckeyes v. Gophers. Let’s dive in.

Ohio State vs. Minnesota: Game time, details

Ohio State has not lost to Minnesota since 2000, the last year for the Buckeyes under former head coach John Cooper. The Buckeyes have won the last 12 meetings over the Gophers. Ohio State last played Minnesota in the 2021 season opener, the first career start for former Buckeyes quarterback C.J. Stroud. That’s Ryan Day’s only time facing PJ Fleck.

The Buckeyes lead the all-time series against the Gophers 47-7. They have won 27 of the last 28 meetings. Ohio State enters this game on a 10-game winning streak. It’s the 17th time the Buckeyes have won 10 or more straight games.
