Ohio State teases alternate gray uniforms for Michigan State game

A November night game in the ‘Shoe? You bet. Alternate uniforms? Yes again.

Ohio State is hosting Michigan State on Nov. 11 on NBC, the new Big Ten network partner, and the Buckeyes will be wearing new threads for the primetime showdown.

Ohio State has teased gray uniforms, which it will wear for a 7:30 p.m. kickoff against the Spartans.

The Buckeyes last wore gray jerseys in 2017 for their Oct. 29 thriller against Penn State, during which J.T. Barrett tossed three touchdowns in the fourth quarter, helping the No. 6 Buckeyes outscore the No. 2 Nittany Lions, 19-3, in the final frame and win, 39-38.

Last year, Ohio State’s alternate uniform was an all-black set for the Sept. 24 night game against Wisconsin. The Buckeyes took care of business, 52-21.

Ohio State hasn’t lost to Michigan State since 2015. And, recently, the series hasn’t been close. The Buckeyes have outscored the Spartans by a combined 157-39 the last three years.

How they got here: Mapping out career path of each Buckeyes cornerback so far

It’s “Cornerbacks Week” at Lettermen Row, the final installation of our position-by-position preview series ahead of the 2023 season.

As is the case with the Buckeyes’ safeties, there is pressure on the cornerbacks to help reclaim the “Best in America” tag line the program’s secondary has taken pride in over the years.

Ohio State hasn’t had a cornerback picked in the last two NFL Drafts. The Buckeyes had a draftee at the position eight years in a row before that — who will step up this season?

More importantly, though, what does this room look like as a whole? We took a look at how each Buckeyes cornerback reached this point of his career.
