COLUMBUS — Ohio State, and the entire top five, stayed put in this week’s AP Top 25. The Buckeyes are still No. 3 after improving to 8-0 and 5-0 in Big Ten play this season with a 24-10 win at Wisconsin Saturday night.

Head coach Ryan Day’s team received three first-place votes for the second week in a row. No. 1 Georgia leads the way with 48 first-place votes. Next is No. 2 Michigan with nine, and No. 4 Florida State is tied with Ohio State with three first-place votes.

Both Kansas and Kansas State entered the Top 25 this week. The Jayhawks got in after their 38-33 upset win over then-No. 6 Oklahoma, which has since dropped to No. 10. And the Wildcats cracked the Top 25 after their second consecutive blowout win — they outscored TCU and Houston, 82-3.

Those are two Big 12 winners. A pair of Pac-12 teams, meanwhile, slid five spots in the poll. Oregon State dropped from No. 11 to No. 16 in a 27-24 defeat to Arizona. Utah fell from No. 13 to No. 18 with a 35-6 loss to now-No. 6 Oregon.

It’s important to note that the first College Football Playoff Rankings of the season come out on Tuesday night. Because of Ohio State’s two top-10 wins, the Buckeyes could very well earn a higher ranking from the CFP committee than they are from the AP voters.
