Ohio State doesn't budge in Week 9 AP Top 25
COLUMBUS — Ohio State is staying put at No. 3 in this week’s AP Top 25. For the second week in a row, there was no movement in the top four. Actually, this time the top six teams didn’t budge.
No. 1 Georgia and No. 2 Michigan are still in front of the Buckeyes, who are coming off a 20-12 win over then-No. 7 Penn State Saturday afternoon in the Horseshoe.
Georgia received 38 first-place votes this week. Michigan was next with 19. Ohio State and No. 4 Florida State each got three first-place votes.
They’re followed by Pac-12 front runner Washington at No. 5 and Big 12 frontrunner Oklahoma at No. 6.
Penn State notably dropped three spots to No. 10. The Buckeyes handled the Nittany Lions, holding head coach James Franklin’s team to 1-of-16 on third down and to 240 total yards. Wideout Marvin Harrison Jr. starred on offense with a career-high 11 receptions. Defensive end J.T. Tuimoloau shined on the other side of the ball with a key sack and then a pass deflection on fourth down, both in the fourth quarter.

As for other AP Top 25 notables this week, James Madison entered the fold at No. 25, and both North Carolina and USC plummeted. UNC fell seven spots to No. 17 after losing to previously 1-5 Virginia, and USC slid six places following its last-second defeat to now-No. 13 Utah.
