COLUMBUS — Ohio State had the week off for some much-needed rest following its last-second win at then-No. 9 Notre Dame. The Buckeyes didn’t play, and they didn’t budge in the AP Top 25, either.

Actually, there was no movement among the top-seven FBS teams.

Ohio State (4-0, 1-0 Big Ten) remained No. 4 this week after another exciting slate of college football, starting with No. 15 Oregon State’s bounce-back win over No. 18 Utah.

Top-ranked and back-to-back defending champion Georgia survived a scare from Auburn. But the No. 1 Bulldogs are receiving only 35 first-place votes now. No. 2 Michigan is second with 12, No. 3 Texas is third with 10, Florida State is fourth with four and Ohio State has one first-place vote.

No. 9 USC had to hold off a fierce Colorado comeback in Boulder, watching a 34-7 lead turn into a 48-41 win and sliding one spot down in the poll as a result.

Now-No. 10 Notre Dame responded to its loss to the Buckeyes with a 21-14 win at No. 19 Duke in another “College GameDay”-featured matchup. Fighting Irish quarterback Sam Hartman heroically kept Notre Dame’s College Football Playoff hopes alive with a scramble on 4th-and-16, setting the stage for a game-winning Audric Estimé rushing touchdown.

Thanks to five total touchdowns (four passing, one rushing) from quarterback Jaxson Dart, No. 16 Ole Miss handed No. 23 LSU its second loss of the season in a 55-49 shootout.

No. 20 Kentucky, meanwhile, entered the Top 25 by staying undefeated and knocking off then-No. 22 Florida, 33-14.

5-0 Louisville also joined the ranks and rounds out the Top 25.

Maryland — Ohio State’s next opponent — leads the receiving votes category with 81. The Terrapins are 5-0 for the first time since 2001. They’ve outscored their first five opponents, 193-66.

There are three Big Ten teams in this week’s AP Top 25: No. 2 Michigan, No. 4 Ohio State and No. 6 Penn State. All three of those teams, of course, are in the Big Ten East, as is Maryland.
