2024 interior offensive lineman Marc Nave decommits from Ohio State
COLUMBUS — Three-star Toledo (Ohio) Central Catholic interior offensive lineman Marc Nave announced Saturday afternoon that he has decommitted from Ohio State.
“I just wanted to inform everyone that I have decommitted from OSU,” Nave said in a statement posted to social media. “I want to thank everyone involved. I feel as if I rushed this process, and I’ve prayed on it, and it is God’s plan not mine. I want to thank you all, and I wish nothing but the best for your program going forward. Thanks be to God.”
Nave is currently the No. 41 IOL, No. 617 overall prospect and No. 25 Ohio prospect in the 2024 class, according to the On3 Industry Ranking.
He committed to the Buckeyes on March 8.
Ohio State now has three offensive linemen committed this cycle: twins Deontae and Devontae Armstrong — both from St. Edward in Lakewood, Ohio, and rated as three-star prospects in the On3 Industry Ranking — and four-star New Palestine (Indiana) prospect Ian Moore. Of those three, Deontae Armstrong is the only listed offensive tackle prospect, according to On3.
Last week, the Buckeyes notably missed out on five-star Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei offensive tackle Brandon Baker, who committed to Texas over Ohio State, Oregon and Nebraska. He is the No. 1 offensive tackle in the On3 Industry Rankings.
Nave camped alongside Moore at Ohio State back in June. That same week, the 6-foot-5, 313-pound Nave took an official visit with the Buckeyes.

Nave has been playing tackle for Central Catholic, but the plan was for him to play guard at Ohio State. When Nave talked to Lettermen Row this summer, he was thrilled about the opportunity to stay in Ohio, especially because he said he grew up a Buckeyes fan.
Now, however, Nave has shifted course.
He has offers from Cincinnati, Kentucky, Auburn, Purdue, Duke, Indiana, Boston College, Marshall, Central Michigan, UMass, Akron and Georgia, according to On3.
With Nave’s decommitment, Ohio State’s 2024 class consists of 21 pledges. But the group is still second nationally, behind only Georgia, in the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings.
