Four-star tight end Max LeBlanc commits to Ohio State
COLUMBUS — Keenan Bailey has his first commit as Ohio State’s tight ends coach.
Chattanooga (Tenn.) Baylor School four-star tight end Max LeBlanc has pledged to the Buckeyes. LeBlanc chose Ohio State over Michigan, North Carolina and Tennessee.
LeBlanc — a 6-foot-5, 225-pound 2024 prospect who is originally from Canada — checks in at No. 276 overall and No. 16 at tight end, according to the On3 Industry Ranking.
He piled up 39 receptions for 695 receiving yards and three touchdowns as a junior at Baylor School.
LeBlanc is the Buckeyes’ 11th commit this cycle, including their ninth on the offensive side of the ball. Ohio State is looking for two tight ends in its 2024 class. LeBlanc is the first of those two.

“Ohio State is the team I was rooting for since my brother played football, so visiting the school was pretty crazy for me,” LeBlanc told On3 Director of Recruiting Chad Simmons ahead of his decision. “For Ohio State and Tennessee, I’d say the energy they had in practice was crazy. The energy of the coaches, the relationships they have with the players is something else.”
Ultimately, the Buckeyes won out.
In his interview with Simmons, LeBlanc described himself as more of a receiving tight end. Although the Buckeyes want their tight ends to be able to both block and catch effectively, the position was notably featured in the passing offense in 2022. In fact, Cade Stover became the first Ohio State tight end since Ben Hartsock in 2003 to record 30 or more receptions in a season.
LeBlanc could be another weapon for future classmate Air Noland, On3’s No. 4 quarterback in the 2024 cycle. Noland has already committed to the Buckeyes, along with five-star wide receivers Jeremiah Smith and Mylan Graham.
Before LeBlanc’s commitment, Ohio State’s 2024 class was third nationally, behind only Georgia and Alabama, according to the On3 Industry Ranking.
