Tracking new Buckeyes jersey numbers on spring roster
COLUMBUS — The Ohio State 2023 spring roster is out. It includes 20 new Buckeyes players: 11 early enrollees, seven transfers and two walk-ons.
With new players, come new jersey numbers. Additionally, a handful of returning members of the program changed up their numbers this offseason. Most notably, redshirt freshman quarterback Devin Brown dialed back the clock and switched from No. 15 to the much less conventional No. 33.
The pick was Sammy Baugh-inspired, according to Brown, who called No. 33 “the original quarterback number” in his post-practice interview.
