INDIANAPOLIS — A pair of former Ohio State players are going through media availability at the NFL Combine Thursday: safety Ronnie Hickman and cornerback Cameron Brown. Hickman and Brown both had up-and-down final seasons with the Buckeyes. Hickman got off to a strong start but struggled down the stretch, while Brown dealt with a knee injury earlier in the year.

Both are trying to impress at this week’s pre-draft showcase.

They’re trying to be the first pair of Ohio State defensive backs to go in the same draft since 2020 when the Buckeyes saw three of their DBs get picked, two of whom (Jeff Okudah and Damon Arnette) heard their names in the top 20.

5:12 p.m. — Former Buckeyes defensive end Zach Harrison will not be running the 40-yard dash or participating in on-field drills.

12 p.m. — Former Buckeyes cornerback Cameron Brown met with the media.

Cameron Brown on his confidence showing this week: “I feel like I always have confidence in myself on the inside. Now I’m a little more public with my confidence. I feel like I can do anything. And I’m not afraid to show it.”

Cameron Brown on whether he’ll be the fastest cornerback at the draft: “That’s the plan.”

Cameron Brown on the NFL Combine: “Physically, I feel amazing. I feel like I can go out there and so they can see it in person. They saw some of it at the Shine Bowl, but now we get to do it in front of the the GMs, head coaches and opposition players.”

10:16 a.m. — Former Buckeyes defensive end Zach Harrison’s measurements are in.

9:30 a.m. — Former Buckeyes safety Ronnie Hickman met with the media.

Hickman on versatility: “I think you gotta be fully available and durable in any position that you’re required to play. Luckily, I was fortunately enough to play both. So I think it’s an advantage on my side to have those defensive positions in my toolbox.

“I’m willing to play both. I’m able to play both at a high level. So I think it definitely helps my case.”

Hickman on versatility, continued: “I’ve told all the teams that I’ve met with — when it comes to learning playbooks, when it comes to learning schemes, when it comes to just taking different styles of coaching — I’m prepared for it,” Hickman said. “I’m ready for it. I’ve seen a new defensive scheme each year, I’ve never had a problem with it, I’ve never had a problem putting it to the field.”

Hickman on Ohio State’s Peach Bowl CFP semifinal defeat to Georgia: “It hurts. It definitely hurts. We felt like we left some things on the field that we could have changed and we could have done better to win both of those games. At the moment, that’s in the past. I’m stepping into a new chapter of my life, and I’ve been keeping the main thing the main thing, which is this right now.”
