Ohio State wideout Noah Rogers hits transfer portal
COLUMBUS — Ohio State true freshman wide receiver Noah Rogers entered the transfer portal Sunday night. He joined classmate and fellow wideout Bryson Rodgers, who put his name in the portal about an hour earlier on New Year’s Eve.
Both early enrolled last January and spent just one season with the Buckeyes. Rodgers accounted for six total offensive snaps across two games, and Rogers accounted for 14 total offensives snaps across four games.
Rogers played three snaps against Indiana in Week 1, five snaps against Western Kentucky in Week 3, three snaps against Purdue in Week 7 and three snaps against Michigan State in Week 11, according to Pro Football Focus.
Rogers was in for four pass snaps, per PFF, but he wasn’t targeted as a receiver.
The Rolesville High School product from Raleigh, North Carolina, clocked out No. 52 nationally, No. 2 in North Carolina and No. 9 among all 2023 wide receivers, according to the On3 Industry Ranking.
Rogers wrapped his career at Rolesville with north of 3,200 receiving yards. He demonstrated his potential as a junior when he tallied 70 catches, 1,432 receiving yards and 22 touchdowns.
The 6-foot-2, 194-pound Rogers averaged 20.5 yards per reception that season. On3 was higher on Rogers than other sites, even rewarding him with a fifth star. He affirmed that status during the Ohio State spring game when he caught a slant pass and broke three tackles, en route to a 57-yard score.

Just like last year, half of the Ohio State wide receivers signed in the previous four-wideout class have hit the portal after just one year with the program.
Last time, it was Caleb Burton and Kaleb Brown, who ended up at Auburn and Iowa, respectively. This time around, it’s Bryson Rodgers and Noah Rogers.
Ohio State signed just two wideouts in its 2024 class, however. Both are five-star prospects, Mylan Graham and Jeremiah Smith.
