COLUMBUS — Ohio State dropped two spots from No. 3 to No. 5 in the Week 2 AP Top 25 Poll after its underwhelming, 23-3 win at Indiana.

The Buckeyes were leapfrogged by Alabama, which climbed from No. 4 to No. 3, and Florida State, which went from No. 5 to No. 4. Alabama is coming off a 56-7 win over Middle Tennessee. Florida State, on the other hand, hammered now-No. 14 LSU, 45-24, thanks to a strong fourth quarter.

There are four Big Ten teams in the Top 25 right now: No. 2 Michigan, No. 5 Ohio State, No. 7 Penn State and No. 19 Wisconsin.

Notably, Colorado is No. 22 after a head-turning, 45-42 win over then-No. 17 TCU that featured breakout games from Buffaloes quarterback Shedeur Sanders and wide receiver/cornerback Travis Hunter.

Duke is right behind the Buffs at No. 21 following an inspiring, 28-7 victory against then-No. 9 Clemson. Led by quarterback Riley Leonard and head coach Mike Elko, the Blue Devils are already building on a strong 2022.

Clemson, meanwhile, dropped a whopping 16 spots from No. 9 to No. 25. The Tigers are searching for their first College Football Playoff appearance since 2020. By the looks of Monday night, the wait for their next CFP berth could be a little longer.

No. 10 Notre Dame and No. 9 Tennessee are now both in the Top 10 after dominant wins over Tennessee State and Virginia, respectively.

But, back to Ohio State, the Buckeyes now find themselves with three top-10 opponents on their 2023 schedule. The first one, a Sept. 23 date with Notre Dame, is coming up near the end of the month.
