Hello again and welcome back to the Lettermen Row Recruiting Question of the Day. Let’s get right to it, shall we?
Today we’re talking about receivers and the player that Ohio State hopes is the next to commit to the Buckeyes in the Class of 2019 at the position.
Where do you see 2019 WR Jameson Williams ending up?

Right now the Buckeyes have one committed wideout: 5-star prospect Garrett Wilson. The good news is that Garrett Wilson is very good at playing football. The bad news? Ohio State is going to lose at least four receivers from its currently very crowded, very talented, wide receivers room.
Enter, maybe, Jameson Williams. Williams is a 4-star receiver from St. Louis and one of the country’s best high school sprinters. He’s been a target of the Buckeyes for months now, maybe even longer than Wilson was, and he announced on Twitter earlier this week that he was close to ending his recruitment.

That, I assume, is what brought on today’s question. Whenever Williams decides, it seems the final two schools for his commitment will be Ohio State and Alabama, despite the fact that he has official visits currently planned to Alabama, Oregon and Nebraska. He visited Ohio State officially in June, and Williams told Lettermen Row following that trip that the Buckeyes were on top.
“Ohio State is the school to beat,” Williams said. “They just recruit me harder.â€
Of course, some things in his recruitment have changed considerably since then. The Buckeyes have been forced to make a change at wide receivers coach. Urban Meyer was forced to take a month off work, time that could’ve been spent working with Williams personally while new receivers coach Brian Hartline got caught up to speed on the relationship side of things with him.
There were a lot of things that went against the Buckeyes in this recruitment recently. Yet, from talking to multiple people on both sides of the aisle, it appears Ohio State remains in pretty good shape to be the winner whenever the 6-foot-2, 175-pound Williams announces a college choice.
My current 247Sports.com crystal ball is on Ohio State, and I’m going to keep it there. I’ve heard no reason to change it. I think the Buckeyes will land Jameson Williams, whenever he decides publicly. That said, I’d feel much more confident in it if he doesn’t take any more visits to Alabama and instead returns to Columbus for an unofficial at some point in the next few weeks.
