COLUMBUS – Jake Diebler and his coaching staff have been scouring the Transfer Portal to retool the Buckeyes roster for next season. Ohio State also a few talented freshmen coming in.

Signee A’mare Bynum is now the No. 54 overall prospect and No. 11 power forward in the final 2025 On3 150 Basketball Rankings. He moved up two spots from the previous rankings. On3 previously had Bynum ranked as the No. 56 overall prospect in the 2025 class.

The 6-foot-8, 210-pound Bynum has had a strong senior season at Branson (Mo.) Link Academy. He is second on the team in both points per game (10.4) and rebounds per game (4.6) this season. He is also averaging 1.4 assists per game and 1.0 blocks per game in 20 games played as a senior.

On3 National Basketball Recruiting Analyst Jamie Shaw spoke with Lettermen Row in February about Bynum’s ascension in the rankings as a senior.

“With A’Mare Bynum you initially see the size and the strength,” Shaw said. “He is a big boy and he uses his length and size to his advantage. Throughout this summer, and into his time with Link, he has show intriguing ball skills. Bynum has played confidently with the ball in his hands, able to face up and create an advantage off the bounce.

He has good hands with soft touch on the block. Bynum is able to get to his left shoulder with quality footwork and an ability to carve out some space with his lower half strength. He is also a solid positional rebounder.

However, for me, his ability to line up from multiple levels on the court and be able to create an offensive advantage is intriguing. With that, his confidence continues to trend in the right direction.”

Bynum and four-star Cleveland (Ohio) Richmond Heights shooting guard Dorian Jones for a strong two-man signing class for Ohio State in the 2025 cycle.

The Buckeyes have also signed Indiana guard Gabe Cupps, former Wright State forward Brandon Noel and former Santa Clara center Christoph Tilly out of the Transfer Portal. Additionally, Ohio State is still searching for at least one more player, preferably a wing, to add to the roster for next season.
