On3 High School Football Composite Rankings Top-25 in Ohio Ahead of Round Four Playoffs Action

COLUMBUS — Ohio is regarded as one of the gem states when it comes to high school football. The Buckeye State year in and year out produces plenty of college talent from FBS all the way to Division III.

This is the fourth week of the playoffs and Lettermen Row runs through the On3 High School Football Composite Rankings Top-25 for the state of Ohio.

No. 1 Archbishop Moeller (12-1)

The No. 1 team in Ohio resides in Cincinnati. Archbishop Moeller rolled through its regular season schedule and the Crusaders now have to roll through their playoff schedule. Archbishop Moeller and 2026 On300 quarterback Matt Ponatoski face No. 6 Cincinnati St. Xavier on Friday in the Region 4 regional final of the OHSAA Division I State Tournament.

No. 2 Avon (13-0)

Avon dominated Wadsworth, the No. 25 last week’s rankings, 41-0 last week. The Eagles host No. 11 Medina Highland on Friday in the Region 5 regional final of the OHSAA Division II State Tournament.

No. 3 Walsh Jesuit (13-0)

Walsh Jesuit remained undefeated with a 42-28 win over Austintown-Fitch last week. The Warriors host No. 4 Archbishop Hoban on Friday in the Region 6 regional final of the OHSAA Division II State Tournament.

No. 4 Akron Archbishop Hoban (11-2)

Akron Hoban extended its winning streak to six games last week with a close win over Nordonia and now they will look to avenge their last loss of the season. The Knights host No. 3 Walsh Jesuit on Friday in the Region 6 regional final of the OHSAA Division II State Tournament as they look to get back to the state title and finally win it.

No. 5 Massillon Washington (10-2)

Massillon Washington are the reigning Division II champs and have played a national schedule this fall. The Tigers face Big Walnut on Friday in the Region 7 regional final of the OHSAA Division II State Tournament.

No. 6 St. Xavier (10-3)

St. Xavier, led by quarterback Chase Herbstreit, the son of Kirk Herbstreit, beat No. 12 Lakota West last week. The Bombers play No. 1 Archbishop Moeller on Friday in the Region 4 regional final of the OHSAA Division I State Tournament.

No. 7 Mentor (13-0)

Mentor remained undefeated last Friday with a shut out win over Canton McKinley last week. The Cardinals play No. 15 St. Edward on Friday in the Region 1 regional final of the OHSAA Division I State Tournament.

No. 8 Glenville (10-3)

The Tarblooders are the reigning OHSAA Division IV State Champions and they shut out Mentor Lake Catholic 28-0 last week. Glenville plays Perry on Friday in the Region 13 regional final of the OHSAA Division IV State Tournament.

No. 9 Anderson (13-0)

Anderson remains undefeated after beating Mt. Healthy last week. The Raptors play La Salle on Friday in the Region 8 regional final of the OHSAA Division II State Tournament.

No. 10 Marion Local (13-0)

Marion Local shut out Ansonia 61-0 last week and extended their 50+ game winning streak. The Flyers play Minster, the only team to hold Marion Local under 30 points this season, on Friday in the Region 28 regional final of the OHSAA Division VII State Tournament.

Massey Ratings ranking: No. 2

No. 11 Medina Highland (11-0)

Highland handled its business in a 38-14 win over Anthony Wayne in a top-25 matchup last week. The Hornets now play No. 2 Avon on Friday in the Region 5 regional final of the OHSAA Division II State Tournament.

No. 12 Lakota West (11-2)

The Firebirds of Lakota West are year in and year out one of the premier programs in the state. Lakota West lost to No. 6 Cincinnati St. Xavier last Friday in the third round of OHSAA Division I State Tournament.

No. 13 Toledo Central Catholic (12-1)

The reigning Division III state champs are riding a 10-game win streak. Central Catholic plays Padua Franciscan on Friday in the Region 10 regional final of the OHSAA Division III State Tournament.

Massey Ratings ranking: No. 10

No. 14 Bishop Watterson (13-0)

Columbus Bishop Watterson made it all the way to the Division III state title game last season and wound up losing. The Eagles, who graduated over 20 seniors, have somehow gotten even better this season. They play No. 27 Steubenville on Friday in the Region 11 regional final of the OHSAA Division III State Tournament.

Massey Ratings ranking: No. 14

No. 15 St. Edward (8-5)

St. Edward has been the best team in Division I for the last three years, winning the state championship in three consecutive seasons. That hasn’t been the case this season, however, as they have struggled with a national schedule. Still they earned a comeback win over Perrysburg last week. The Eagles play No. 7 Mentor on Friday in the Region 1 regional final of the OHSAA Division I State Tournament.

Massey Ratings ranking: No. 11

No. 16 Ursuline (11-1)

All of the talk about high school football in Northeast Ohio usually goes toward the Cleveland area, but don’t sleep on Youngstown either. Ursuline is an elite program. The Irish host a high-powered Gilmour Academy on Friday in the Region 9 regional final of the OHSAA Division III State Tournament.

Massey Ratings ranking: No. 16

No. 17 Princeton (11-2)

Princeton had one of their best seasons in recent history this fall but it came to an end last week. The Vikings lost to No. 1 Archbishop Moller in the third round of OHSAA Division I State Tournament.

No. 18 Olentangy Liberty (11-2)

Olentangy Liberty earned another Massey Ratings Top-25 with a win over Upper Arlington last week. The Patriots play No. 20 Pickerington North on Friday in the Region 3 regional final of the OHSAA Division I State Tournament.

No. 19 Ironton (12-1)

Ironton got a big 41-13 win over Columbus Harvest Prep last week to avenge their loss to the Warriors to end the 2023 season. The Fighting Tigers play Wheelersburg on Friday in the Region 19 regional final of the OHSAA Division V State Tournament.

No. 20 Pickerington North (11-2)

One of the powerhouse programs of Central Ohio, Pickerington North, earned a narrow 10-7 win over Olentangy last week. The Panthers play No. 18 Olentangy Liberty on Friday in the Region 3 regional final of the OHSAA Division I State Tournament.

No. 21 Centerville (10-3)

The Elks make their debut in the On3 High School Football Composite Rankings Top-25 for the state of Ohio following a 42-7 win over Dublin Coffman last week. Centerville plays Huber Heights Wayne on Friday in the Region 2 regional final of the OHSAA Division I State Tournament.

Massey Ratings ranking: No. 22

No. 22 Elder (6-6)

Elder is one of the most historic high school football programs in the state of Ohio but the Panthers received a tough draw in the State Tournament. The Panthers fell to No. 7 Lakota West in the second round of OHSAA Division I State Tournament to end their season.

Massey Ratings ranking: No. 24

No. 23 Winton Woods (10-2)

The Warriors made the move up to Division I this season and a made playoff run but fell short of a trip to Canton. Winton Woods fell to No. 6 Cincinnati St. Xavier in the second round of OHSAA Division I State Tournament.

No. 24 London (13-0)

London has consistently been one of the top Division III teams in Central Ohio. The undefeated Red Raiders play Bellbrook on Friday in the Region 12 regional final of the OHSAA Division III State Tournament.

No. 25 Liberty Center (13-0)

The Tigers finished as the state runners-up at the OHSAA Division V level last season. Liberty Center plays Milan Edison on Friday in the Region 18 regional final of the OHSAA Division V State Tournament.

No. 15 La Salle (11-2)

La Salle plays No. 9 Anderson on Friday in the Region 8 regional final of the OHSAA Division II State Tournament.

No. 25 Coldwater (12-0)

Coldwater plays Anna on Friday in the Region 24 regional final of the OHSAA Division VI State Tournament.
