Read Big Ten letter to athletic directors updating football plans
COLUMBUS — The Big Ten isn’t ready to make definitive decisions on a football season quite yet.
But the deadline is looming.
In a letter cosigned from league commissioner Kevin Warren and Big Ten task force chair Dr. Chris Kratochvil sent on Thursday, the possibility of a full cancellation remains on the table heading into August and the scheduled start of training camp next week. There’s also a short-term target to address the next step as the conference is expected to decide whether to start practices at all, a verdict that should be revealed by Wednesday.
For a program like Ohio State which is slated to start camp on Friday, the coming week is going to be of critical importance if the national-title contenders are going to get a shot to suit up this year.

There’s also no game schedule yet, though multiple sources have indicated to Lettermen Row that the Big Ten is close to finalizing that plan and could reveal it as early as Friday — but could hold off on all major announcements regarding the season until next week.
