Lathan Ransom surgery successful after Rose Bowl injury
Lathan Ransom suffered a scary leg injury during the Rose Bowl. It caused him to be carted off the field in an air cast taken to the hospital.
But Ransom will certainly be back after a long rehab process ahead of him.
Ransom posted an update on his condition Monday, and he made sure to include that he underwent successful surgery.
“Surgery went great,” Ransom said in the tweet. “I just wanted to thank Buckeye Nation, my coaches and teammates for all the positive messages and prayers. Can’t wait to get back to work! #GoBucks”
Lathan Ransom didn’t get to celebrate the Rose Bowl on the field with the rest of the Buckeyes. But after successful surgery, he can begin working on his rehab and the road to a return for next season.
Lettermen Live hosted by Roosters
Lettermen Row senior writer and show host Austin Ward leads another all-star unit featuring former Ohio State quarterbacks Cardale Jones and Justin Zwick, former Buckeyes linebacker Bobby Carpenter and Lettermen Row staff reporter Spencer Holbrook.
It’s a jam-packed show as the three former Buckeyes give insight from their playing days for unique angles on how Ohio State captured a Rose Bowl win. In addition to that analysis, the entire crew dishes out Buckeye Leafs for the players whose performances caught their eye the most from Pasadena.
Also, during the game, former Ohio State defensive back Marcus Williamson sounded off on Twitter to give his opinions on the Buckeyes program while he was there – including under the Urban Meyer regime – and the college football landscape.
Because of their inside perspectives, this trio of former Ohio State players have plenty of valuable opinions on what Williamson said, the Buckeyes program and the sport itself.

Master Teague leaving Ohio State for NFL draft
A brief Rose Bowl cameo will mark the end of the collegiate career for Master Teague.
The physical, hard-charging reserve running back is leaving a potential bonus season of eligibility on the table and officially declaring for the NFL Draft.
Teague never quite emerged into a featured role for the Buckeyes during his four seasons with the program. But he certainly carved out a niche as a bruiser off the bench and a near-unstoppable force at the goal line, racking up 17 touchdowns with Ohio State before deciding to try his luck at the next level.
There was never an expectation at Ohio State that Teague would use the bonus COVID eligibility to stick around for a fifth season. But it wasn’t entirely clear if he might want to pursue a season elsewhere as a transfer in order to boost his draft stock after he fell out of the Buckeyes rotation due to a combination of injury issues and the rise of TreVeyon Henderson and Miyan Williams.
