C.J. Stroud makes cut for major quarterback award
C.J. Stroud has 28 touchdown passes through seven games. He is among the best quarterbacks in the country.
Now he’s being honored as one of the great college quarterbacks this season. Stroud was named one of 10 candidates for the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award, given annually to the top upperclassman quarterback in college football.
Stroud has lit up nearly every team the Buckeyes have faced this season. He has completed 70 percent of his passes for 2,023 yards and 28 touchdowns, compared to just four interceptions.
Those stats are just a part of the reason why he is up for the prestigious Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award.
Full preview of Buckeyes matchup with Penn State
The Buckeyes are prepping for the Nittany Lions inside the Woody Hayes Athletic Center all week after a perfect 7-0 start to the regular season. But the folks in State College aren’t going to sit around and just let the Buckeyes beat them badly without giving Ohio State its best shot.
Lettermen Row’s Spencer Holbrook is joined this time by Nate Bauer, who covers the Nittany Lions for On3’s Penn State site Blue White Illustrated, to break down how Penn State stacks up against the Buckeyes, the questions surrounding Sean Clifford and the Nittany Lions defense — and plenty more.
How ready is the Ohio State defense to face a veteran Big Ten quarterback? Will Penn State be better against the Buckeyes than they were against Michigan? What are the expectations for this Saturday afternoon inside Beaver Stadium? Spencer from Lettermen Row and Nate from Blue White Illustrated break it all down.
