Buckeyes just one week from kickoff as college football season begins
The college football season officially kicks off with a Big Ten game Saturday.
No, the Buckeyes won’t be in action. Their season opener is still a week away. But Nebraska and Northwestern will meet in Dublin, Ireland, at 12:30 p.m. to kick off the college football season.
Ohio State still has to wait one more week before its primetime top-five matchup against Notre Dame. And there’s still a week of preparations left before that massive Week One showdown.
But the college football season is now officially underway. And the Buckeyes are just patiently waiting their turn to take the field.
Safelite becomes first-ever on-field sponsor for Ohio State
Ohio State is only eight days away from its highly-anticipated season opener against Notre Dame.
The Buckeyes enter the season with serious national and conference championship aspirations, along with several potential award-winning players. Paramount to its hopeful championship season, Ohio State has announced its 2022 game-day protocols ahead of the regular season kickoff.
The Horseshoe is celebrating its 100th birthday this season — the bash that is scheduled for the Buckeyes Oct. 1 game against Rutgers — and it welcomes an on-field sponsor.
Safelite is the official on-field sponsor at Ohio Stadium and two of the company’s logos will be printed onto the newly-laid artificial turf.
The Columbus-headquartered company has sponsored Ohio State athletics since 2014 and will continue to do so in the foreseeable future.
