Buckeyes set aside date for spring game
Ohio State has officially set a date for the spring game.
The program will be back in the Horseshoe for the annual tradition of a spring game on April 17. That date could potentially be flexible depending on COVID-19. Ohio State announced the plans for a spring game in the middle of April on Tuesday afternoon.
The Buckeyes also announced they will begin spring practice on March 19.
Even with the state of Ohio loosening restrictions on fan attendance for sporting events, it remains unclear if the Big Ten or the Buckeyes will be able to welcome fans back to the Horseshoe next month. Ohio State also hasn’t committed to a format for the exhibition either, though third-year coach Ryan Day has made it clear he wants as many game-like scrimmages over the next two months as possible to make up for the developmental reps the program lost during the pandemic-shortened season last year.
The spring game date is set. And the Buckeyes will be back on the field soon for spring practice.

Buckeyes have plenty of recruiting goals in March
Even with the 12-month dead period that is still ongoing due to the NCAA, Ohio State hasn’t cooled off on the recruiting trail. But the Buckeyes have plenty of attainable goals — and needs — in recruiting during the next month and beyond.
Lettermen Row’s Jeremy Birmingham made sure to break down what the Buckeyes need to accomplish in the next month. Part of that can be found here:
Even in the case of J.T. Tuimoloau, it’s best for Ohio State not to panic if the visit doesn’t get scheduled. But it’s especially vital that the Buckeyes coaching staff keeps steady in its plans and efforts for the Class of 2022. Throughout the month of March there will likely be a number of big-time prospects making decisions, and even for a program like Ohio State F.O.M.O — the fear of missing out — can be a real thing and lead to some less-than-ideal decisions being made.
Ohio State has to be careful not to extend offers just because other schools are if the player in question isn’t truly someone that it’d usually be interested in now. The Buckeyes should not take commitments just because others are pushing.
