Buckeyes host annual Job Fair in Horseshoe
Ohio State had a huge weekend.
Not only did the Buckeyes host some of the top prospects on their recruiting board, but they also held their annual job fair for the football players. It was a chance for players to make contacts with professionals for after football and share their resumes, which they all showed up with in-hand, with those pros.
Some of the companies present at the job fair included Northwestern Mutual, the Pro Football Hall of Fame, Big Ten Conference office and Fidelity Investments, among plenty of others.
“The job fair is an important part of player development as our student-athletes have the chance to get real-world experience on how to prepare, dress and network,†Buckeyes coordinator of career and professional development Candace Johnson said in a press release. “Being in Columbus, there’s a company for any interest our guys may have and we are purposeful in showing them the different opportunities.â€
Ohio State had a big weekend for the football program. And the job fair was one of the biggest — and most important events for life after football — on the football calendar.
Ohio State wraps up J.T. Tuimoloau visit
Ohio State hosted the No. 1 player in the class of 2021, J.T. Tuimoloau, for an official visit over the weekend. And the buzz from the massive recruiting weekend is beginning to come out of the Woody Hayes Athletic Center.
How did the Buckeyes do over the weekend? Did they do enough to impress Tuimoloau? Lettermen Row recruiting expert Birm has more on the visit:

The focus of this trip from the Buckeyes point of view was development: From Larry Johnson and what he can do on the field to what the city of Columbus and recent name, image and likeness legislation will do for Tuimoloau off of it. Ohio State had its annual job fair on Friday night, showing the 6-foot-5, 275-pound defensive end just a sample of the connections that the Buckeyes have to the biggest and most lucrative businesses in Ohio and around the Midwest.
Outside the welcome at the airport, the goal for the Buckeyes has been to show Tuimoloau substance, not style. The effort was made to highlight the relationships he’s already grown with Ohio State and to make sure he meets the people who will help him maximize his three years at Ohio State. It’s about Larry Johnson’s role in his on-field development and the commitment the famed position coach gives to him and his family for the next 20 years as well.

ICYMI: Reid Fragel breaks down Buckeyes tackles in BuckIQ
Good luck finding another offensive line unit with a better combination of veteran experience and elite ability than the one the Buckeyes will unleash with Thayer Munford back once again for a fifth year and Nicholas Petit-Frere putting off the NFL Draft following a great season last year. Ohio State had backup plans in case it needed to replace those starters on the edge — and it was a welcome surprise that it didn’t need to use them.
What makes Thayer Munford and Nicholas Petit-Frere so valuable for Ohio State? How much does the return of those veterans improve the Buckeyes? Where can those tackles get better this season? Former Ohio State tackle Reid Fragel was back in the Lettermen Row film lab answering those questions and more in the latest episode of BuckIQ.
