Buckeyes lead all programs with biggest Pro Bowl list
If anyone was looking for proof of the ‘Developed Here’ tagline the Buckeyes football program uses, the Pro Bowl is the perfect place to start.
The Pro Bowl highlighted the best players in the NFL on Sunday afternoon — and the Buckeyes led the way. Seven former Ohio State stars were on the Pro Bowl roster, a testament to how the program prepares athletes for the pro game.
Former Ohio State stars Jonah Jackson, Nick Bosa, Marshon Lattimore, Cameron Heyward, Joey Bosa, Corey Linsley and Denzel Ward all were given the nod for the All-Star game Sunday, and no other program can show off that many.
Turns out the ‘Developed Here’ mantra is real.
Buckeyes basketball beats Maryland at home
The competition level wasn’t among the Big Ten’s best for Ohio State — on paper.
Maryland has been a struggling team under an interim head coach all season, and the records indicated that the Buckeyes shouldn’t have had trouble earning a home win over one of the league’s basement residents.
But the Terrapins have a win over Illinois this season, and they’ve pushed plenty of the conference’s top teams to the brink of upset. So for the Buckeyes to dominate from start to finish with a 82-67 win Sunday? That’s certainly impressive, especially given the lack of rhythm Ohio State has had due to their stop-and-start schedule.
Led by E.J. Liddell, who poured in 24 points and 11 rebounds, No. 16 Ohio State (14-5, 7-3 Big Ten) moved to a flawless 10-0 this season inside the Schottenstein Center with the win over the Terrapins, avoiding the upset that has nearly tripped up Big Ten foes all year.
