COLUMBUS – Ohio State looked like one of the best teams in the country in their 89-78 win over the Spartans on Wednesday night. Kevin McGuff’s team finishes the season undefeated inside the Schottenstein Center.

Star freshman point guard Jaloni Cambridge led the way for Ohio State with a career-high 33 points including shooting five of nine from three-point range. McGuff felt like Cambridge played with a high level confidence against Michigan State, particularly in the second half.

“We wanted to get the ball in her hands as much as possible down the stretch,” McGuff told Lettermen Row. “Not that she has to shoot every time, but she gets by people and then she draws people and she can pitch it.

“But she was playing with a lot of confidence tonight, for sure.”

Beyond Cambridge, center Ajae Petty finished with 23 points and 15 rebounds. Additionally, Petty was the first Buckeye to shoot 100% from the field on 11 shots since 2016. Standout forward Cotie McMahon was the only other Ohio State player in double-figures. McMahon finished with 17 points while shooting four of six from three-point range.

Ohio State has one regular season game remaining before the Big Ten Tournament. The Buckeyes travel to College Park, Maryland to take on No. 19 Maryland on Sunday, March 2.
