FINDLAY – There are several 2026 wide receivers in the state of Ohio that have the potential to be Power Four prospects. Findlay (Ohio) Liberty-Benton standout Seth Elchert is one of them.

The 6-foot-3 and 190-pound pass-catcher currently holds four offers from Mid-American Conference programs but multiple Power Four programs invited him to camp this summer.

“I’m going to schools where the coaches have personally invited me,” Elchert told Lettermen Row. “So I’m going to Ohio State, Northwestern, Purdue and Louisville.”

Elchert visited Ohio State for two spring practices and he talks with two members of the Buckeyes coaching staff.

“Coach Hartline and coach Jordan, both of the receiver coaches down there,” he said.

As an in-state standout, Elchert understands the tradition of the Ohio State program, particularly at the wide receiver position.

“It was really cool to see what they do down there just because, I mean, they’re like the wide receiver university, they produce a ton of studs,” Elchert said. “So it was just cool to see how they coach up there guys down there.”

Elchert also understands the fact that Ohio State wide receivers coach Brian Hartline has never signed a wide receiver that didn’t camp with the Buckeyes and that’s a big reason why he will be in Columbus on June 11 in hopes of earning a scholarship offer.

“I think it’s a really big opportunity,” he said. “I just have to go out there and compete and do what I do.”

Ohio State running backs coach Carlos Locklyn by Liberty-Benton on May 16 to see Elchert and visit with the Eagles’ coaching staff.

Elchert is a three-sport standout for Liberty-Benton. As sophomore, he hauled in 74 receptions for 1,052 yards and 12 touchdowns. He is also a two-year varsity starter on both the Eagles basketball and baseball teams.
