From that visit on, the Buckeyes were the team to beat for Sanchez. Alabama, LSU, Texas and Texas A&M all pursued the talented Sanchez but he ultimately committed to Ohio State on Jan. 6 at the 2024 All-American Bowl.
“Just the relationship I built with coach Walton and seeing what he has done these past two years,” Sanchez told On3 following his commitment. “Especially this past season with Denzel and Davison, I think he could do the same with me.”
Sanchez was one of the leaders of Ohio State’s 2025 recruiting class along with his parents Daniel and Deetra who were quite active on social media throughout the cycle.
He will be an early enrollee and on campus in January after playing in the Navy All-American Bowl in San Antonio, Texas on Jan. 11.
