DeShawn Stewart is a versatile secondary prospect. The 6-foot, 185-pound Stewart primarily played cornerback early in his high school career. He slid back to safety as a senior and was fourth on his team in total tackles before suffering an injury in Week 10 that caused him to miss the rest of the season. Stewart has the potential to play cornerback, safety or even nickel at Ohio State but he will likely start at safety.
Stewart is one of three safeties for Ohio State in the 2025 class. He joins Faheem Delane and Cody Haddad in the Buckeyes secondary haul.

How did Stewart end up at Ohio State?
DeShawn Stewart had dozens of Power Four scholarship offers but he chose Ohio State because of his strong relationships with the coaching staff.
“My relationship with Coach Day is great,” Stewart told Lettermen Row. “Everytime we talk, it’s great, and we talk about life and football. My relationship with Coach Guerrieri is fantastic. That’s my guy. In the beginning of my recruitment with him, he told me that he would be in contact with me more than anyone else in the country, and that was the truth. We’ve built such a great relationship and I trust him a lot. We have talked about a lot of things and it feels so genuine.
“The coaches say that I will be used all around the backend because of my ability to be able to play anywhere on the field and just being as aggressive as I am.”
Stewart will be an early enrollee and on campus in January to continue his rehabilitation following a season-ending injury.
