COLUMBUS — Ohio State has added a highly-touted, out-of-state prospect to the offensive line room for offensive line coach Justin Frye. Four-star IOL Jayvon McFadden has signed his Letter of Intent to Ohio State and is officially a Buckeye.

Who is Jayvon McFadden?
Jayvon McFadden is a four-star offensive lineman from Washington, D.C. He attended Riverdale Baptist High School in Upper Marlboro, Maryland. He committed to Ohio State on August 24, 2024 over Colorado, Penn State and South Carolina. The 6-foot-3.5, 275-pound McFadden was a key recruiting win for Justin Frye in 2025.

High School: Riverdale Baptist
Jayvon McFadden has the ability to play all five spots along the offensive line. He was a multi-year starter at offensive tackle in high school but the Buckeyes like his potential as a guard . McFadden has long arms and quick feet that allow him to play all five positions along the offensive line at a high level.
McFadden is one of three offensive line commitments for Ohio State in the 2025 class. The Buckeyes have a solid offensive line haul between Mcfadden, Carter Lowe and Jake Cook.
How did McFadden end up at Ohio State?
Jayvon McFadden did not talk about his recruitment often throughout the 2025 cycle but he was always high on Ohio State. He only took one official visit this summer and it was to Columbus.

McFadden took two months to finally announce his commitment but he knew he wanted to be a Buckeye following his official visit.
“Columbus was good, man,” McFadden told Lettermen Row. “It’s always good to get down there and just feel the vibe with Coach Day and Coach Frye. But this right here, this was probably my best one yet.
“This one right here, it kind of just let me know exactly how they feel about me. And how I fit the system at Ohio State.”
McFadden will be an early enrollee and on campus in January to take part in spring practices at Ohio State.
