COLUMBUS – Twenty of the 2025 cycle’s top signal callers are in Southern California this week for the Elite 11 Finals, which kicked off on Tuesday night. Five-star Bellefontaine (Ohio) quarterback and Ohio State commit Tavien St. Clair was one of the quarterbacks in attendance and turned in an impressive performance.

Lettermen Row spoke with the On3 staff that is in Los Angeles and pulled their reporting for a in-depth recap of St. Clair’s performance on day one of the Elite 11 Finals.

On3 Director of Scouting Charles Power ranked St. Clair his No. 2 overall top performer on Day 1

2. Tavien St. Clair – Ohio State

Tavien St. Clair looked like the most accurate quarterback on hand throughout Day One at the Elite 11 Finals. The Buckeye pledge lived up to our expectations in this on-air environment, impressing with his smooth, replicable throwing motion. St. Clair dotted his throws for much of the evening. We noticed that receivers did not have to break stride, with many of the throws being right on their face. At 6-foot-4, 225 pounds, St. Clair is also one of the more physically imposing signal callers on hand. In a workout that can highlight deficiencies in a quarterback’s game as a passer, there wasn’t much to critique with the Ohio native.”

Power noted St. Clair’s accuracy during drill work in the On3 Day 1 Live Updates thread

“Tavien St. Clair has easily been one of the best to come through my station so far. Pinpoint accuracy from the Ohio State pledge.”

On3 Vice President of Recruiting and Transfer Portal Steve Wiltfong was impressed by St. Clair’s consistency on Day 1

“Certainly one of the most consistent performers on day one, St. Clair was on time and accurate rep after rep. He brings good energy. Never tapered off as the night went on. He is one of the favorites to win this competition”

Wiltfong also spoke with St. Clair’s parents about Ohio State recruiting Five-Star Plus+ offensive tackle David Sanders Jr. and shared it in the On3 Day 1 Live Updates thread.

“Just talked to Tavien St Clair’s parents. The family heads from the E11 Finals to Ohio State for the official visit. Same weekend as David Sanders Jr. and they’re ready to help continue recruiting the Five-Star Plus+ prospect. I feel the Buckeyes are in the lead group with Tennessee and Georgia with a few others obviously still in play.”
