COLUMBUS — Ohio State recruits the top prospects in the country and certainly within the state. The 2026 class is no exception and the Buckeyes already have a few top targets committed.

On3 released its updated On300 for the 2026 recruiting class which included a trio of Ohio State commitments and even more targets.

Lettermen Row takes a few moments to look at the three members of the Ohio State 2026 class in the On300.

Chris Henry Jr.

Four-star Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei wide receiver Chris Henry Jr. has seen his stock fall slightly this offseason after having his junior season cut short due to injury. Henry Jr. comes in as the No. 28 overall prospect and No. 5 wide receiver in the updated 2026 On300. Prior to the this update, On3 had Henry ranked as the No. 4 overall prospect in the No. 1 wide receiver in the 2026 class.

Regardless, Henry is still the top target for Ohio State offensive coordinator and wide receiver coach Brian Hartline in the 2026 class. Hartline made Mater Dei his first stop following the Buckeyes National Championship festivities to meet with Henry. Miami, Oregon and USC are among the programs still recruiting the 6-foot-5, 185-pound pass catcher. All three programs along with Ohio State will host Henry for official visits this summer.

Jakob Weatherspoon

Four-star Avon (Ohio) athlete Jakob Weatherspoon has seen his stock rise this offseason, however. Weatherspoon, the Buckeyes lone defensive commitment in the 2026 class, is now the No. 133 overall prospect in the latest 2026 On300 update. On3 previously had Weatherspoon ranked as the No. 172 overall prospect and No. 11 athlete in the 2026 class.

The 5-foot-11, 172-pound Weatherspoon is a versatile, do-it-all piece in the secondary. He primarily played free safety as a junior but Ohio State recruited him to play cornerback. Weatherspoon was a top target for cornerbacks coach Tim Walton since the summer and he is now one of the leaders of the Buckeyes 2026 class.

Jaeden Ricketts

Four-star Pataskala (Ohio) Watkins Memorial wide receiver Jaeden Ricketts made his debut in the updated 2026 On300 on Monday. On3 ranks the 6-foot-1, 187-pound Ricketts as the No. 192 overall prospect in the 2026 class. He was previously rated as a ’89’, three-star prospect by On3.

Ricketts earned an offer from Brian Hartline and the Buckeyes following a strong camp performance last summer. He then committed to the Ohio State on Nov. 16 following the win over Northwestern at Wrigley Field. Ricketts committed to Ohio State over offers from Illinois and multiple Mid-American Conference programs.
