Urban Meyer: Ohio State coach returns to standing ovation at Skull Session
COLUMBUS — Urban Meyer is back.
After a three-game suspension, the Ohio State made his return to full-time coaching on Saturday against Tulane and was greeted by a fanbase ready to have him on the sideline again.
Meyer’s first unrestricted game day of the season started at a jam-packed Skull Session in St. John Arena, with the crowd in scarlet and gray welcoming him with a standing ovation. He offered his thanks for the support he received from fans, his players and the rest of the coaching staff for the Buckeyes before closing his remarks to walk over the Horseshoe.
“I’ll see you all in two hours,” Meyer said.
From there, Meyer strolled into the Horseshoe, leading the way down the tunnel and across the field down to the south end zone, where he stopped for his customary hug with every member of the roster. The early-arriving fans all shouted out well wishes, and Meyer responded to a the Block O student section chant of “O-H” by throwing up an “I-O” in return.

One by one, Meyer shook hands with the Buckeyes, whispered a few words of encouragement to various players — finishing up with quarterback Dwayne Haskins before heading to the locker room for the final preparations to take on Tulane.
“Long time no see, baby,” wide receiver Johnnie Dixon said with a smile.
The Buckeyes have seen him in practice for the last couple weeks, of course.
But now Urban Meyer is officially cleared to resume all of his duties at Ohio State. And business is back to normal for the Buckeyes.
