COLUMBUS — The Buckeyes have their second addition of the spring Transfer Portal window — and it is an important depth piece.

West Virginia offensive lineman Justin Terry has committed to Ohio State. The 6-foot-5, 338-pound Terry redshirted this past season for the Mountaineers.

On3 ranked Terry as the No. 62 offensive tackle prospect in the 2024 class coming out of Pickerington Central (Ohio) High School. Terry still has all four years of eligibility remaining.

Ohio State only potentially needs help on the offensive line from a depth perspective — because of the small recruiting classes the program took in the trenches for a couple of cycles under now-former offensive line coach Justin Frye.

The Buckeyes have at least six offensive linemen who could start on this team, and the second-team unit looked good in spring practice. But Ryan Day discussed the potential of adding along the offensive line after the spring game.

“You talk about your depth a lot,” Day said. “But one of the things for us is, we’re two down in the offensive line.”

They currently have 14 scholarship offensive linemen, and that’s not where the program wants to be. Terry provides the Buckeyes with talented depth ahead of next season.
