Where Ohio State ranks in final AP Top 25 Poll for 2024-25 season following national title

The Associated Press released its final top 25 poll for the 2024 football season on Tuesday, one day after the Buckeyes beat Notre Dame, 34-23, in the 2025 College Football Playoff National Championship.

The Buckeyes, of course, were No. 1 in the final poll following the win over the Fighting Irish. Notre Dame finished No. 2 in the final poll. Oregon and Texas, the Buckeyes previous two opponents in College Football Playoff, finished No. 3 and 4 respectively. Tennessee finished No. 9 in the final poll following a loss to Ohio State in the College Football Playoff First Round.

Additionally, the Buckeyes had regular season wins over Penn State and Indiana who finished No. 5 and No. 10 in the final poll. The only other Big Ten team in the final poll was Indiana who finished at No. 16.
