Zach Boren on leadership, relationships at Ohio State
From Real Life Wednesdays to leadership training sessions, the Ohio State football program preaches the preparation of current and former players for life after football.
The goal of building relationships and skills that are beneficial on and off the field truly began in 2012 during Urban Meyer’s first season in Columbus. Being new to the area and team, Meyer added new elements to the program that have remained and been vital to the success of it since his tenure began.

And the foundation was undoubtedly established right away in his first year with a team that ended the season undefeated.
Letterman Row contributor Zach Boren — a captain for that famous 2012 squad — had the chance to return to the Woody Hayes Athletic Center last month to take part in the team’s first leadership training session. Austin Ward sat down with Boren to discuss that experience, along with how vital leadership is for Meyer and a young Buckeyes roster this season.
