Zen Michalski, rising offensive line prospect from Indiana, commits to Ohio State
Ohio State football recruiting can be a wild ride full of twists and turns as recruits from all over the country maneuver their way to signing day. Lettermen Row is here to help navigate the tumultuous roads by getting to the heart of the matter with the young football players and Ohio State coaches and staff members themselves. Today, Zen Michalski rejoins the program to talk about why he’s committed to the Buckeyes just days after decommitting from Louisville.
From the moment that Ohio State offered him a scholarship in early September, it seemed like only a matter of time before Zen Michalski would join the Buckeyes.
That time is now.
Michalski, a 6-foot-6, 285-pound offensive tackle from Floyd’s Knobs (Ind.) Floyd Central High School, decommitted from Louisville this past Monday and is now officially an Ohio State commitment. Though it took a few days to be ready to announce publicly, Indiana’s No. 3-ranked prospect according to 247Sports.com, actually committed to the Buckeyes coaching staff last Sunday night following his first trip to Columbus, a visit he made with his father. That visit included a handful of stops around the Ohio State campus and though he was unable to visit with Buckeyes coaches, Michalski said he and his family knew it was the place for them before they hit the road back home.
“We are definitely sold 100-percent,” Michalski told Lettermen Row following that visit. “It feels good to know exactly where I want to go and there’s not even a second thought about it.”

That confidence is his choice is the primary motivator for Michalski to commit now. He’s played the offensive line for just two seasons but he’s quickly become a top target for Ohio State coaches and now he’s decided to join the Buckeyes.
Why now? Did other recent offers give him any second thoughts? What was it about the Ohio State program that made it the right choice for him?
Lettermen Row has the answers to that and more in the latest commitment episode of Birminology.
