A Wide Receiver Weekend for Scoop
Few things have seen more explosive growth in the last six months than wide receiver recruiting. So it’s not a huge surprise that we’d come across a weekend full of receiver recruits. And this weekend we’ll see Oklahoma commitments from the 2024 and 2025 classes along with a 2026 offer. Beyond that we’ll see a priority Sooners walk-on and a 2025 running back offer.
Southlake (Texas) Carroll @ Keller Timber Creek
Not surprisingly a battle involving one of Texas’s most talent-rich programs has numerous names to follow. Carroll is a factory of division one prospects and at the moment is loaded at the offensive skill positions. Notably at wide receiver are 2024 preferred walk-on commitment Jacob Jordan as well as 2026 offer Brock Boyd.
Jordan is incredibly productive with 259 yards and three touchdowns on 17 receptions so far for the Dragons. Boyd has been more of a chain mover so far but we’ll will get our second lengthy look at him after his stellar Sooners camp performance in June.
Another interesting name to watch is 2025 tight end Jack VanDorselaer. The big tight end has a lengthy list of offers and is another prospect in what seems to be a talented tight end group nationall
At running back Carroll has Riley Wormley but the talented runner was ruled ineligible after his transfer from Colleyville Heritage. Last year Wormley averaged over 7-yards per carry in an injury riddled season.

On the other side of the ball Timber Creek is led by Sooners senior receiver commitment Dozie Ezukanma. Like Boyd, Ezukanma impressed at Oklahoma’s summer camp and his size and explosion will be interesting to see against a talented Carroll roster. The early enrollee is off to a big start in his senior season with seven catches for 108 yards and three socres.
Eufaula, Okla. @ Checotah
With Jordan and Ezukanma in 2024 and Boyd in 2026 we’ll put Friday night’s recruit in the middle with 2025 Oklahoma receiver commitment Elijah Thomas. The explosive eastern Oklahoma athlete has been on a wild tear through the first few weeks of the season helping Checotah score on offense, defense, and special teams.
Thomas faces the always talented Ironheads. It’ll be interesting to see how Thomas continues to adjust to life as the focus of each defense he faces.
