The Crimson Countdown is officially on for the 2024 Oklahoma football season. Fans have been waiting for what feels like forever with this one. The Sooners are finally and officially joining the SEC.
The 2023 season was a rebound one for head coach Brent Venables, getting the program back to its standard. OU went 10-3 in Venables’ second season, now it’s time for year No. 3.

It’s just going to be about how quickly Jordan has been able to adjust to everything. Jordan was one of the few 2024 signees to not enroll early.

Still, cornerback is a position where true freshman can try to turn heads. And although there is a strong group that would be perceived to be ahead of him, just keep the head down and work.
If things go really well for Jordan, then special teams can be a legitimate avenue. He wouldn’t be the first player to earn playing time on the field at his position because of his dedication toward special teams first.
2024 cornerback outlook
The cornerback room is another unit that has more depth than usual for the Sooners. Junior Gentry Williams returns for his third season and is expected to start at one spot if he’s healthy. There are several players though pushing Williams for one of the two starting spots, including new San Diego State transfer Dez Malone and Louisville transfer Kani Walker, who is now in his third year in Norman. Young guys Jacobe Johnson and Makari Vickers have also been impressive, hoping to have a bigger role in 2024.
