2024 outlook: If you were putting together a list of ‘breakout stars’ for OU, then sophomore defensive end P.J. Adebawore would be included. Expectations have followed the former five-star talent since arriving in Norman and you saw flashes a season ago. Now up to 260 pounds teammate Danny Stutsman referred to Adebawore as a ‘freak’ at SEC Media Days. It’s about putting it all together on the field in a defensive end group that seems to have quite a bit of depth. Look for Adebawore to be a player that makes a name for himself in the Southeastern Conference.

2024 defensive end outlook:

OU has a good mix of experience and talent at the defensive end position in 2024. The old guys for the Sooners are Ethan Downs, Trace Ford and Miami Ohio transfer Caiden Woullard. Downs is the unquestioned leader of the group, entering his fourth and final season for OU. But OU does have a host of young guys looking to contribute and possibly start. R Mason Thomas and PJ Adebawore both feel like players who could have breakout seasons in Norman. And freshmen Nigel Smith and Danny Okoye are hoping to find some sort role in 2024.
