OU linebacker Danny Stutsman has donated a $50,000 of his NIL earnings to the team’s walk-ons, the school announced Wednesday.

Stutsman, who is one of Oklahoma’s best players and a team captain this week, is one of the more profitable players on the OU roster. According to On3’s NIL evaluation, Stutsman has a $305,000 value. On Wednesday, he decided to give some of his earnings and a JBL gift package to the Sooners’ walk-ons. JBL is one of his top sponsors.

“Obviously there’s a day where you feel like your hard work doesn’t get seen, doesn’t get noticed,” Stutsman said in front of the team. “But it really does here at Oklahoma. Every single day we appreciate you guys. This team would be nothing without you guys. I mean that from the bottom of my heart. I truly do mean that. I feel like I have a really good connection with all of you guys and I just know how much you put into this program… With that being said, I want to donate some of my NIL earnings to you guys.”

Sutsman decided to come back to the Sooners for his final season, wanting to leave the program the right way. While he figures to be one of the OU’s best players, his leadership is what Oklahoma appreciates the most.

“Couldn’t be more proud of his growth,” coach Brent Venables said. “His maturation, the leadership that he brings, the passion, the investment that he has in this program and his teammates. He’s a wonderful teammate. Cares about everybody else’s success as much as he does himself.”
