Defensive end Caiden Woullard transferring to OU
If there’s one thing about OU head coach Brent Venables, if he sees value in somebody, he’s going to try to make it happen.
Not a lot of people would say defensive end is a high priority for the Sooners in the transfer portal. But OU has landed one of the best.
Former Miami (Ohio) edge Caiden Woullard has announced his commitment to Oklahoma on Thursday night, following his visit to Norman.
Woullard, listed at 6-foot-5 and 251 pounds, will have one year of eligibility remaining. He is coming off a strong junior season.
The Ohio native had 41 tackles, including 12 tackles for loss. Woullard added 9.5 sacks, two forced fumbles, nine quarterback hurries and two blocked kicks.
He becomes the ninth portal addition for the Sooners and the second of the day to join kicker Tyler Keltner.
There is a lot of talent coming back to the defensive end room for the Sooners. However, Venables never stops looking. After the bowl game, Woullard was quick to announce his intentions. One Power Five offer after another came in the days that followed.

Track transfer portal activity
While the NCAA Transfer Portal database is private, the On3 Network has streamlined the reporting process tracking player movement. If you find yourself asking, ‘How can I track transfer portal activity?’ our well-established network of reporters and contacts across college athletics keeps you up to speed in several ways, from articles written about players as they enter and exit the transfer portal or find their new destination, to our social media channels, to the On3 Transfer Portal.
The transfer portal wire provides a real-time feed of player activity, including basic player profile information, transfer portal ranking and original On3 Industry recruiting ranking, as well as NIL valuation (name, image and likeness).
